What it is like
A shallow rocky bay with a small patch of coarse sand, quieter than Marsalforn a few hundred metres back. The appeal is the flat rock to lie on and water that is clear once you are past the shallows.
The wind
Same exposure as Marsalforn: it faces north and a tramuntana makes it unswimmable. In a southerly it is calm and usually close to empty.
The salt pans
The chequered pans cut into the rock start just here and run west towards Xwejni. They are still worked in summer, and the salt is sold from a shed along the road.
