What it is like
The most photographed stretch of this coast, because of the salt pans and the weathered rock stack at the water’s edge. Swimming is off flat rock into deep clear water. There is no sand at all.
The wind
North-facing and completely open to it. In a tramuntana this is a place to look at rather than swim in. In a southerly it is calm and the water is exceptionally clear.
The salt pans
Worked since at least the Knights’ period and still harvested by hand in summer. Walk along them rather than across them.
