Reqqa Point

The northernmost point of Gozo, a sheer wall dropping to fifty metres, and one of the island's best shore dives.

  • Żebbuġ, Gozo
  • Over rock
  • Very quiet

What it is like

A headland where the rock drops vertically into deep water. Divers come for the wall and the caves along it; snorkellers get a lot from it too because the drop is close in and the visibility is usually excellent.

The wind

Fully exposed to the north. In a tramuntana there is no entry here at all, and the swell breaks hard over the rock. Calm in anything southerly.

A caution

The entry is a scramble and the exit is harder in any swell. This is not a casual swimming spot.
